Learn To Sail Program - Parents
LBSS offers “Parent lessons” to adults who have students enrolled in LBSS programs and are interested to learn how to support the sailing needs of their students - local and travel racing. Examples of some of the items to be taught include basics of racing, how to rig an Optimist, how to tow and launch various boats, how to tie knots, etc.
Instruction will take place both on land and water. Boats utilized will include Optimists, X Boats, and Flying Scots. Instruction will be provided by LBSS instructors from 6:30 to 8:00 on Tuesday nights. All participants are required to bring and wear life jackets when on the water.
Learn To Sail Program - Youth Classes
Instructed primarily in Optimist Dinghies and Flying Scots for older students, this program will be offered during two different weeks this summer. See the schedule for details. The Learn to Sail Program is intended as an introduction to sailing, teaching students how to become comfortable on the water. An X Boat may be utilized for older students. Optimist students in Learn to Sail do not need to own boats.
The Learn to Sail Course covers basic water safety and beginning sailing skills and is recommended for children of ages 6-15 who have completed first grade. This program will be scheduled based on registrants’ availability and offered on select dates, with four (4) days on select dates with three (3) hour lessons. All participants are required to bring and wear life jackets.
Learn To Sail Program - Adult Classes
LBSS offers Adult sailing lessons to those interested in learning how to sail on LBSS owned Flying Scot sailboats. Instruction will be provided by LBSS instructors from 6:30 to 8:00 on Monday nights. Intermediate instruction may be available based on interest and would be held in Flying Scots. Spaces are limited to the first 6 beginning students.
REGISTRATION DEADLINES
All forms and payment for all sailing programs of the Lake Beulah Sailing School must be received by June 1.
PLEASE PRINT AND MAIL the forms along with payment as soon as possible, so as to help with instructor planning.

NOTICE OF CONCUSSION LAW COMPLIANCE
There is a concussion regulation in Wisconsin. This regulation requires all organized athletic programs to provide concussion information to participants, parents, and coaches. Coaches and parents will have responsibilities to ensure removal from activity and evaluation for any potential concussions. Fact sheets for parents and athletes are on our website, and there is an agreement form that will be a required part of the registration process. We place the utmost priority on the safety of our sailors young and old and are happy to pass along this important information and comply with the new regulations!
